My name is Paul.

Who am I?

My name is Paul Carlon and I am a Columbus, Ohio based art director and designer experienced with promotions, packaging, public relations, visual communication, print collateral, advertising, web and multimedia. My educational background in model making and design at one of the foremost Universities offering such a degree, as well as my varied, professional design experience, has truly provided me with a unique and comprehensive skill set that proves beneficial to clients seeking design solutions that are consistently strong and innovative.

How did I get here?

I am originally from a small town in Northern Minnesota. After graduating from college, I began my career as a model maker in Austin, Texas. I excelled at making models, but soon realized that I needed to work in a more creative capacity. With promises of a more design focused position, I was lured to the big city of Columbus, Ohio by a well known model making facility. Upon my employment, it was soon discovered by my employer that the precision of my model making skills was unparalleled and, to my dismay, I was pushed into the depths of model making tedium with the floor staff. The creative direction that I was looking forward to sharing with the company never materialized. It was at this point that I realized that I really needed to be a designer…I HAD to be a designer.

I took a huge risk, left the model making industry and landed a design contract with America Online. It was a life changing experience for me and it solidified and validated my dedication to being a design professional.

Since that initial contract with AOL, I have been living and breathing design in all aspects of my life and have been pushing myself creatively by taking on as many challenging, professional opportunities in design as possible. It is my goal that this online collection of my work will help to generate even more exciting opportunities for me in a professional design capacity.

This is my work.
